In recognition of best managed public relations at societal level, ONGC, Tripura Asset, has been awarded by PRCI
PRCI officials said that in 2018 ONGC state unit made a meaningful contribution towards building synergy in the domain of Public Relation that has created impact in the society in terms of development. The PRCI, the only independent national body having 30 chapters across the country and Bangladesh has been working over the decade to promote public relation activities in professional framework among both public and private enterprises.“We have evaluated PR activities of ten organisations including state information department and all other public sectors undertaking and private corporate operating in Tripura involved in various activities for social well being besides, business and information sharing mandates where ONGC Tripura asset stood apart,” said PRCI state unit president.

The concept of public relations emerged in America at the beginning of the 20th century and the US became the House of Global Public Relations in the 21st Century – a model to all countries. Today, every organisation — be it public or private — practices public relations with a global perspective to reach out to domestic and international stakeholders. If the Indian government has a separate Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to inform, educate and motivate people, the US government, without any centralised Ministry, has an independent and self-contained Public Affairs Unit in each ministry and every Federal department.

The Public Relations Society of India celebrated the 34th National Public Relations Day
The Public Relations Society of India (PRSI), Bhubaneswar chapter observed the National Public Relations Day with the theme ‘One Nation One Agenda One Voice’ here on Sunday. CSM Technologies founder and CEO Priyadarshi Pany discussed on role of information technology (IT) in nation building. He said that IT plays a big role in getting our voice heard, setting up the agenda and building democracy. Data is being translated as knowledge and wisdom. This helps in building the nation, he viewed. He also informed about use of IT in enhancing efficiency of public welfare programmes. PRSO Bhubaneswar chapter Chairman Amar Jyoti Mahapatra briefed about the importance of the day and Secretary Sanjay Kumar Sahoo proposed a vote of thanks.

The Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management 17th Annual General Meeting was held on Saturday 6 April in São Paulo, Brazil. Global Alliance Chair José Manuel Velasco presented the 2018 Annual Report, providing an overview of the key activities and initiatives conducted by the Global Alliance in 2018. Highlights and achievements in the past period included the rebalancing of the Global Alliance´s budget, a 55% increase in membership, an agreement with two global sponsors, the partnership with international associations (FEDEIA, EUPRERA and UNICEO), a regional GA conference (in Bali, Indonesia, September 2017), an ethics summit of the PR industry (in Madrid, Spain February 2018).
