Medela, a client of Genesis Burson-Marsteller wins platinum at SABRE 2017 for a revolutionized campaign
Genesis Burson-Marsteller and its client Medela, a breast pump and nursing accessories manufacturer, took home the Platinum award for best in show at the South Asia SABRE Awards dinner in Mumbai this evening, for a campaign that started a conversation about breastfeeding, built a community of working mothers and resulted in a 50% increase in the sale of breast pumps.

Dentsu Aegis Network acquires Sokrati to give it a new makeover
Dentsu Aegis Network, part of Japanese advertising group Dentsu Inc., has agreed to acquire Pune-based digital marketing and analytics provider Sokrati Technologies Pvt. Ltd in its second takeover deal in India this year.

Weber Shandwick has been appointed by PSI India as their communications partner
Following participation from leading agencies within the country, Population Services International (PSI) India has appointed Weber Shandwick India as its communication partner. Established in 1988, PSI India complements the efforts of the Government of India in priority health areas of maternal and child health, sanitation, tuberculosis, family planning, and gender-based violence. Using PSI’s market development approach and targeted social behaviour change, PSI India works to address market failures in the public health space across the country.
Indian Government shows interest in UK and US based PR agencies for increased FTAs
Amongst foreign tourists visiting India, a substantial percentage is women and they did not report any major problems in India during their visits. Further, the country continues to receive repeat visitors, an analysis by the government shows. Still the country suffers from “negative publicity” abroad. This is now prompting an innovative step by which the government could hire foreign-based Public Relations (PR) agencies in countries reporting maximum tourist traffic to India to countries reporting maximum tourist traffic to India to counter negative media coverage regarding safety and security of tourists in India. A top government official told ET that India plans to hire agencies in UK and the US to help substantially increase foreign tourist inflow from these nations to the tune of almost 30% in the coming year.

Microsoft India splits business between Genesis Burson-Marsteller and Perfect Relations
Microsoft has chosen to bring in Genesis Burson-Marsteller to replace Edelman, which had led the account since 2014. The decision comes despite Edelman's global Microsoft relationship, and follows a pitch that involved some of India's top PR agencies.
Commwiser, a strategically special communications firm has been launched
There is a flourishing industry dedicated to measuring the impact of PR and its impact on the reputation of a brand. Having worked with a number of specialists and tested a wide range of dedicated software tools now myself, for me there remain some big challenges on a practical level. Financial markets can give a brand’s reputation a defined value in the form of share price rises or goodwill during mergers and acquisitions. However, M&As are not an everyday activity for most of us in PR and communications so we need to look at other ways to quantify and qualify the value of our work. This measurement challenge is particularly tough for engineering, science and technology firms that sell niche products and services to specialist buyers.
Importance of practical, and traditional ways of measuring what PR yields for a brand
Aman Abbas, who has spent close to two decades in the PR industry, has announced plans to launch Commwiser, a specialist communications firm that will focus on the professional services segment and technology sector (consumer and enterprise). Commwiser will initially operate from its office in Delhi-NCR and Mumbai and will follow up with an expansion into South East Asia.
